To provide consulting support to the Managing Director and a range of arboricultural activities within
a team environment, including but not limited to, quoting tree work, customer relations, business
development and providing detailed arborist reports to customers.

• Undertake customer related enquiries in a professional manner.
• Work co-operatively in a multidisciplinary team.
• Perform Arborist report duties:
o Keep appointment times as scheduled by admin team
o Liaise with customers when required
o Further develop private Arborist Reports with a suite of indicative species attributes
including picture for insertion into reports
o Ensure Arborist Reports are undertaken and completed in a timely manner and meet
customer requirements for local authorities
• Assist the senior management in the preparation, review and adjustment of works programs
and customer service standards.
• Supervise trainees in a practical situation when required.
• Perform quality control procedures for tree work completed and insitu.
• Assist with the tender process and other business development activities when required.
• Perform and supervise tree work when required.
• Participate in both health and safety training and practical job-related training associated with
the current Workplace Health and Safety Act and its Regulations.
• Participate in job-related training and professional development as agreed with the Managing

Communication & Decision-Making Skills
• General written communication skills with clients, members of the public, and other

Specialist Technical Competencies
• Diploma of Horticulture (Arboriculture).
• Knowledge of amenity tree maintenance and care including AS 4373-2007.
• A clear understanding of the Australian Standard Protection of Trees on Development Sites AS
• An understanding of ground penetrating radar technology and an ability to interpret the
results of scans.
• Knowledge of and skills in the competent use of computers including Microsoft Word, Excel,
Powerpoint and Outlook and other programs such as Treeplotter and ArborCAD.
• Relevant mechanical and technical skills enabling the safe and competent operation and
maintenance of small plant and equipment.
• Ability and willingness to climb trees using certified practices and climbing equipment.
• Ability and willingness to conduct in-house climbing training as required.

• Understanding of other arboricultural practices such as cable, bracing, root management
and application of fertiliser and chemicals as required.
• Knowledge of the use of an Elevated Work Platform.
• Ability to use documented policies and procedures to obtain required outcomes.
• The ability to judge the safety and security of work sites and equipment to develop Job
Safety Analysis work sheets.
• The ability to judge the safety and security of work sites to develop Traffic Management
Workplace Health & Safety Skills
• A clear understanding of Workplace Health Safety requirements and relevant standards
including AS 4801.
• Ability to develop job/work method statements.
• Ability to follow defined WHS policies and procedures relating to the work being
undertaken in order to ensure own safety and that of others in the workplace:
• Ability to follow workplace procedures for hazard identification and risk control.
• Ability to contribute to participative arrangements for the management of OHS.
• Ability in implementing EEO, WHS and other legislative and official requirements including
the observance to the relevant Codes of Conduct.
• Shall demonstrate knowledge and ability to perform aerial rescue and submit to a regular
assessment as deemed by management.
Management Skills
• Advanced skills in managing own time and planning and organising one’s work to achieve
specific and set objectives in the most efficient way possible within the resources
available and within a set timetable.
• The ability to lead and manage small teams when required.

• QTRA Licence desirable.
• Ability to work flexible hours to meet the requirements of the position.
• A current First Aid Certificate is desirable.
• ACDC Chemical Licence is desirable.
• Medium Rigid ‘MR’ Licence is desirable/essential.
• Current Blue Card is essential.
• Chainsaw ticket 1 & 2 is essential.
• Current ‘C’ Class motor vehicle licence is essential.
