Are you an Assistant in Nursing or currently studying Nursing with a passion for assisting with the protection and immunisation of our community? We are seeking applications from suitably qualified AINs and those studying nursing to join our COVID 19 vaccination hubs and clinics in the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District.
 
Where you'll be working
 
NSW Health is currently seeking staff for clinical and non-clinical roles to work in its network of COVID-19 vaccination clinics and vaccination hubs located across NSW. You will be part of a dynamic team working together to provide vaccinations to our community against the COVID-19 virus.
 
It is vital that vaccination clinics and hubs provide clinically safe services with collaboration between multidisciplinary staff across clinical and non-clinical staff to deliver excellence in patient experience. Vaccination clinics and hubs will see you working and partnering with a range of staff and roles from Local Health Districts and other key agencies.
 
What you’ll be doing – Vaccination Clinic Assistant in Nursing
 
The Vaccination Clinic Assistant in Nursing role is to provide support to the nursing team in order to deliver a high standard of care to patients.
 
The Assistant in Nursing will provide support to the nursing team, both Enrolled and Registered, in the delivery of nursing care in an acute care environment. They will be directed tasks and monitored by the registered nurse. The incumbent will retain responsibility for their own actions and remain accountable to the registered nurse for all allocated functions. The incumbent will document all patient responses to direct care given, including progress notes and clinical records in accordance with the plan of care and organisational protocols.
 
What else do you need to know?
 
Applicants will be required to provide the following:

  • Working with Children Check (WWCC) number for paid employment in NSW
  • Evidence of vaccination against specified infectious diseases

Remuneration: $46,261.52 - $50,759.31 per annuam (pro-rata part time/casual) 
Hours Per Week: Up to 38 hours (with various shifts available)

Selection Criteria:

  2. HLT33115 Certificate III in Health Service Assistance (Assisting in Nursing Work in Acute Care) OR currently studying Bachelor of Nursing OR a degree deemed appropriate
  3. Demonstrated interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
  4. Ability to work independently, under delegation and the ability to collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team.
  5. Demonstrated computer literacy skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office, email applications and electronic filing systems.
