About the Role

We have a unique opportunity for experienced Assistant Plant Controllers and Plant Controllers to join our operating team at our Bayswater Power Station in the Hunter Valley, NSW. Reporting to the Shift Manager and Senior Plant Controllers these roles will see you undertake duties associated with the operation of plant from both local and from the remote controlling station as appropriate to the position.

About You

As a Plant Controller or Assistant Plant Controller you will bring technical experience in a coal fired powered station partnered with relevant qualifications. You will form part of our operating team which operates and maintains the plant and equipment required to run the power station.

Your key responsibilities will be to :
Assist the Shift Manager and senior staff to safely operate plant and equipment, ensuring applicable plant is operating within approved limits and in compliance with appropriate statutory requirements
Carry out isolations of plant and equipment and prepare, issue and clear Permits to Work
Conduct routine plant inspections and carry out condition monitoring to ensure continued safe and efficient plant operation, report defects and conduct minor maintenance as needed
Contribute to hazard identification, emergency procedures and continuous improvement programs

What you’ll bring to the table:
To be successful you’ll have:
Trades certificate or tertiary qualification in a relevant technical discipline
Significant practical and technical operating experience in a coal-fired power station (minimum 7 years)
Demonstrated knowledge of the principles for the safe and efficient operation of a coal fired power station
A commitment to safe work practices, environmental responsibilities and a strong workplace safety culture
Willingness to complete operating training relevant to this position and the motivation to progress through the operator structure
Applied computer skills to support related administrative tasks along with reporting
Analytical and problem-solving skills

It would be highly regarded if you have:
Relevant first aid qualifications
Previous operator trainer experience

To be successful as a Plant Controller it is essential , in addition to the above that you hold A dvanced Boiler and Steam Turbine HRW Operating Licenses.
