You must have at least a Certificate IV or higher qualification and at least 1-year relevant job experience.

Responsibilities

The role of Farm Supervisor is to oversee and supervise Banana farm cultivation operations in the processing of produce to be packed for Market.

Reports to

Shed Manager 

Main Duties and Tasks:

  • Consult with Shed manager to prioritise tasks. 
  • Recruit, train and supervise farm workers – coordinate and direct their activities
  • Ensuring staff have the required tools and equipment for scheduled work.
  • Organising and conducting packing operations, such storing, grading and packing of harvested bananas.
  • Communicating with field staff as to faults in banana hands entering packing facility.
  • Monitoring staff rosters, hours, performance and resolving any grievances.
  • Training new staff as to duties for each relevant section.
  • Ensure banana storage and temperature control meets regulations.
  • Ensuring Farms hands complete required work to meet deadlines and productivity.
  • Inspect packing facility, ensuring routine maintenance is carried out and repairs are made when necessary.
  • Ensuring all waste products are handled correctly.
  • Ensure and enforce compliance with government regulations and health and safety standards.
