Seven (7) positions are available for seasonal harvest crew to harvest 2021 capsicum and mango crops in the Gumlu area. Harvest crew members shall report to the owner/managers and are responsible for the daily harvesting of capsicum and mango produce to specification whilst adhering to WHS and Food safety requirements. Daily duties include but are not limited to:

* Crop planting activities as required,
* Ground and paddock preparation and maintenance duties as required (mulch/plastic laying, crop weeding),
* Harvesting mature capsicum and mango produce from bushes/trees in paddocks/orchards.
* Filling harvest bulk bins with mature capsicum/mango produce,
* Assisting other crew members with harvest duties,
* Equipment cleaning and maintenance.

This position will be Seasonal Casual for 6 to 8 months (spanning from late May to early December) with hours of work between 7am to 4pm Monday to Saturday. Remuneration shall be in accordance with the Horticulture Award 2019.

This position requires harvest crew members to work outdoors in the sun and humidity each day. The duties are physical, repetitive, and labour intensive requiring a lot of bending and reaching. Applicants must be motivated, willing to learn and take instruction, have their own sun protection including bucket/brimmed hat, long sleeve shirt, long pants and closed in shoes, sufficient food, and water to maintain their health for each daily shift, the ability to work in a team, and their own transport to the farm as we are located in a remote area with no public transport available. Onsite rental accommodation can be supplied should it be required.
