About This Opportunity

An opportunity exists for a Workplace Health and Safety Coordinator for the School of Nursing, Midwifery and Social Work, School of Dentistry and Research Centres within the Faculty of Health and Behavioural Sciences. This position is responsible for the implementation of the Faculty and Schools’ Health and Safety Management plan and assisting School staff to meet their WHS obligations within the Schools and Research Centres. This role will promote a positive safety culture and achieve compliance with statutory requirements and organisational objectives. This role will be required to work across multiple locations.

This position is located at our picturesque St Lucia campus, renowned as one of Australia’s most attractive university campuses, and located just 7km from Brisbane’s city centre. Our Ideal Candidate

You will have completed an undergraduate degree and have subsequent relevant experience in a clinical field. You will have a demonstrated knowledge of the principles and practices of Workplace Health and Safety and how they apply to clinical environment. You will also have knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety Codes of Practice and Australia Standards as well as safety practices in teaching, research and clinical environments. You will have well-developed IT skills appropriate for this position including Microsoft Office Suite and other local systems including the University's risk management database or the ability to rapidly acquire this knowledge.

You will have the willingness to work across a range of activites and locations partnered with excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks and work independently. You will also have strong interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to exercise tact, courtesy, judgement and maintain confidentiality when dealing with people at all levels of the organisation.

It is a condition of employment for this role that you will be required to provide evidence of immunisation against certain vaccine preventable diseases.

What We Can Offer

This is a full-time, continuing position at HEW level 6.

The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $80,784.26- $86,768.42, plus super of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be in the range $94,517 - $101,518.
