Industrial Relations Organiser

Location:44 Faithful St, Wangaratta, VIC 3677
Salary/classification: Year 1 annual salary - $107,120 + 14.5% Super (pro rata)

Hours: full time - 38 hour working week (Monday to Friday, 8:45am to 5pm)

About the role

Within a designated geographical area (Wangaratta, Wodonga, Yarrawonga, and surrounds), you will be responsible for workplaces and associated environments and through the management of the Industrial Officer, you will provide industrial and professional advice to ANMF (Vic Branch) members.
You will be involved in Branch activities including a diverse range of campaigns designed to improve member services and employment conditions.

Selection criteria

You have demonstrated negotiation and advocacy skills. You have experience educating, supporting, representing and mentoring members/colleagues.
You are resilient, sustain energy for difficult tasks and possess personal poise, even when under pressure or in ambiguous situations. You will be able to assist Job Representatives and members to remain calm in these situations and deal constructively with criticism.
You have excellent written communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with Job Representatives, members and other stakeholders.
You are passionate for the role of the Organiser, the union movement and growing ANMF’s presence within workplaces.
You have the ability work to constructively, positively and proactively resolve difficulties.
You have the capacity to manage multiple issues.
You have the ability to work with minimal supervision.
You are a strong team player with the ability to develop and sustain effective and collaborative professional relationships.
You have experience applying expertise and knowledge in relation to relevant Agreements, the Fair Work Act 2010 and other relevant legislation.
You have sound knowledge of Microsoft Suite packages eg, Word, Excel and Outlook.
You hold a current Victorian driver’s licence.
